Tbh, I have no idea. The 9F manual just states that it moves in 2 sec increments, but no mention for how long.
Mine was doing it for about a week.
It was worth replacing the battery myself just to see the movement decoration.
I've seen two versions, one with a sunburst finish and another with the stripes so it was good to confirm which I had.
I suspect older versions had the sunburst finish.

Changing the battery is straightforward enough, but just make sure the gasket is seated correctly before replacing caseback
