Liver of Sulfur gel Patrick. It’s a disgusting sounding solution that smells of rotten eggs. It works very well (and very quickly) with red bronze, not anywhere near as well or quickly with yellow bronze. I donned a pair of rubber gloves so that my hands didn’t retain the smell, wiped it on, and just as quickly wiped it off.

If I wanted to, I could have turned the case fully black, but I wanted the coppery colour to show through. I might give it a once over with a cape cod cloth to bring up the coppery colour on the sharp edges and make the rest a bit more burnished.

Wearing an old(ish) Certina Electronic. It’s interesting in that the second hand “ticks” four times per second, rather than the once per second that became the norm with the later quartz watches. Its timekeeping is not that impressive, it’s not as accurate as a quartz watch, but better than most automatics of its time...

Thanks for the info Gary, gives the bronze some real character. Iirc I think that is the same method that Mike France described CW is now using to patinate the C60 Bronze
