Non CW of the Day
Yes Neil, it's kinda, definitely quartzish... and it's one of the coolest chronographs I own. Look Ma, no subdials.nbg wrote:Is that one Quartzish Gary, as it doesn't look like a normal standard mechanical?

Push the crown and it swaps to chrono mode - all hands set to zero (well, twelve) very quickly. Press the chrono button and it starts recording elapsed time (up to twelve hours) using the three main hands. Press the crown again and it re-displays the current time, while the chrono continues recording elapsed time. The chrono runs to 1/100th of a second on the lower dials - assuming the operator can be that accurate in pressing a button.
Oh yes, it has a perpetual calendar too... Pure Swissness, no Chinese elves involved.

I've been experimenting with the Archie Luxury method of NATO fastening, which keeps all the buckles on the underside of your wrist
Basically, allow the 'spare' strap section to hang free on the same side as the buckle. You'll need to pull the buckle side through the springbars to make it longer than normal. Place on your wrist and thread the long end through the spare keeper and the actual buckle at the same time. Find the hole and slide the excess into the two keepers as usual.
I'm quite liking it
