^^^ Thank you Paul/Neil, I'm very pleased. First 24 hours have been very succesful. Very comfy, extremely legible (surprisingly so), not bulky (despite the height). Cracking :D

Is it a trick of the lighting or is that a green crystal on that watch Dane?

It’s milgaus crystal
No, just reflection of green window.

Looks great Mark, but then Speedys usually do! The vintage style strap suits it nicely.

The legibility is possibly unsurpassed by any other chronograph. I maintain that they're so comfortable as the crystal weighs almost nothing, so most of the (relatively light) weight is concentrated in the bottom three quarters of the watch, close to the wrist, meaning they tend not to wriggle around.

I've been looking at the Dan Henry range recently, the styling of quite a few models are right up my street and they do look rather good in their product shots (naturally)- would you recommend them?

I would indeed. I think they're terrific value for money watches. I also own a 1963 chronograph and the 1970 is the second one I've owned. I previously had a 1970 in the 44mm size, but when they released it in a 40mm, I bought one in that size and sold the bigger one.

They have some lovely details (the case backs spring to mind), are quite well made and the pricing is just spectacular for what is included. The other owner reviews I've read have all been very positive.

Well as i've just sold something rather substantial on ebay, i may have a few beer tokens spare this month- the hardest decision will be should i go for the 63 silver bezel or the 44mm 1970 you had previously (as i do like a big un' and i was born in 70  )....i also like the 39, but honestly couldn't choose between the two versions
