Thanks Steve. I like the title, I think it's just been christened the "Purple Turtle". :)
You're welcome.

Just curious, when I lived in Sydney, (1967-1972) a "thumbs up" sign was considered rude, certainly at my school! I remember that my Dad used to give me the thumbs up all the time, yet when I did it to a teacher once at school, I was sent to the Headmaster's office for a telling off! Is it still considered to be a rude sign?

Dull and wet outside, so a pop of colour is required.

Must have been a Sydney thing. Further north it's always been a positive sign. The upright middle finger, which is considered rude worldwide, used to be two fingers (index and middle), kind of like a reversed V for victory sign. It morphed into the more universal middle finger about thirty years ago, but thumbs up was always good :)

Right. Thanks. The two fingers sign (reversed V for Victory) is still used over here. Usually with the question- "Are these yours?".

How are you and GAF1958 finding the watch after spending some time with it? I keep eyeing them up and the price seems amazing.

Fantastic watch and great value for money. Punches above its weight. Quality excellent, for price.

My 1970 is the original 44mm with a flat topped and tall, double domed acrylic crystal; which I really like.

There is a recently released 40mm version, which gaf1958 has, on which the crystal is simply domed and less tall.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. It would have to be the 40mm for me, purely on a size basis. Both look great.
