Non CW of the Day
Re: Non CW of the Day
^^^^ unfortunately they are Paul. I was fortunate to buy an unused one from a member on TZ-UK, who had bought it for the Speedy Tuesday he is expecting. Like many he got fed up with the wait, so decided he no longer needed the strap.
I had a spare all brushed Omega deployant, so now good to go when my Speedy Tuesday turns up.
A £12-£14 alternative, with normal pin buckle, to give the style a try is the WatchGecko Cordura range, where they have two different styles.

"Horween" and "custom made" rarely show up together in the cheap section. Thanks so much. This is really very helpful!gaf1958 wrote:The strap was made by a guy in the US, not Australia. I had a lead to him (don't remember where from though) on a couple of deployant straps he had made to suit Omegas. I bought this brown one, then when it arrived I asked him if I could get another couple of them made in red-brown Horween rather than pure brown. It turned out that the clasp he'd borrowed to make the initial batch had gone back, but he managed to grab it again to make/check my two. I gather it was a bit outside his usual fare consisting of constant thickness straps.Psalty wrote:Nice! Let me see, because I don't have all this straight. Horween is a producer of leather in Chicago, USA, but your straps were made by a friend in AU. Correct?gaf1958 wrote:Here's a pic of the strap on my wrist. The leather thins out from 5mm at the lugs down to about 2mm at the clasp. It's really nice to have this chunky style of strap on a proper deployant rather than use a buckle.
The guy who made it for me borrowed a friend's Omega clasp to make sure everything fitted properly, so I had him make two more for me in a reddish brown while he still had the clasp.

I have a Bader clasp ready for exactly that purpose, but I'm not sure where I can find someone to skive a strap that way. Really like it, and that leather is perfect on the DA44.
If (and it may be a big if) I can find his contact details I can pm them to you if you're interested. They're not cheap, but I think there's quite a bit of work in them and Horween is probably not inexpensive either.
Cheers!
Gregory

I think this is probably the most comfortable watch I've ever owned
The only problem is I forget I'm wearing it and have a little panic every now and then thinking I've lost it

Set up and ready to wear tomorrow.
Thought I would go for the simple, clean look.

Nice to see a photo of good weather in the US today. The LE Speedy just adds to the photo.jtc wrote:
