That's the best one of those that I've seen. Great condition! Most of these usually have skeleton hands which make them hard to read. Great that they aren't integrated bracelets. I imagine they were one of the most expensive watches animal ever made. Only the fully digital tide graph Le's cost more possibly.gaf1958 wrote:I told DM a couple of days ago I'd post an Animal watch. I've been a bit tardy in that respect, but here it is. Not as out there with the dial colours and design as his, but the case and bracelet are far from the usual watches seen here. What looks like an integrated bracelet is actually a removable bracelet with hooded 20mm lugs on the case. Oh yes, it's titanium too, so it's a light as anything on the wrist. Inside is a Seiko 5M4x kinetic movement.

Non CW of the Day
I believe they were, but retained value is not strong for the brand.Dancematt wrote:I imagine they were one of the most expensive watches animal ever made. Only the fully digital tide graph Le's cost more possibly.
This cost me about $60, bargain IMO...
I do like that they're true to their surf watch roots. RIP - Rider Induced Power system, aka Seiko kinetic...

Thanks. I updated a SOTC to try to overcome the Photobucket screw-up. AFAIK these pictures work... http://www.christopherwardforum.com/vie ... 64&t=44396

Re: Non CW of the Day
Funny enough I popped my old Animal watch on a new velcro the other day after going through a load of old photos and bringing back memories, it was my one and only watch for years and was literally never off the wrist. Not wearing it now to share a pic.
Main reason I chose the 1171 was the fact of it being fully brushed making it a perfect fit and finish for the ST. Not gonna lie I was a bit disappointed with it on opening the pack(cheap feel against the modern bracelets) but I've grown to love the thing, due in part to the weight and also the flexibility of the links. I find it much more comfortable than my old Soyuz was on the modern bracelet, was forever adjusting the micro on that one where as this a comfortable fit stays that way. Has a nice vintage charm to it aswell.gaf1958 wrote: Not saying I'm jealous, mind you... but that's lovely and yes, I'm positively green with envy.
Edit: 1171 bracelet is an interesting choice, did you choose it because it's lighter (and more flexible) than the modern bracelets? I have an 1162 on my Mark II and sometimes think I should get an 1171 for my late sixties Seamaster 300, which been on a modern Broad Arrow bracelet for ages.

Home office lunch break, some sunlight for the AT. Maybe even too bright, the dial looks quite blurry
