Re: Non CW of the Day
I like that saffy, a well used Seiko Military, great case shape and the wabi just adds to the appeal.

did someone in a white builders wagon and irish accent pull up and ask if you wanted your watch tarmac'd ? I like it !Dancematt wrote:Lava man, lava man, does whatever a lava can:

Re: Non CW of the Day
maybe they did in iceland! its made from ash from the icelandic volcano that lost the UK £490 million or so when it errupted. not many of these about - straight on it looks smooth as a normal dial, sideways like this though...Saffy wrote:Dancematt wrote:Lava man, lava man, does whatever a lava can:

FYI i think your Seiko is legit, the case shape is right for the era and i've seen it with a blue dial and red numbers just not a grey one but i dont think it could be from another model just rarer, See here:

Vintage today with this 1957 Tissot T12 Seastar, which incidentally has the smoothest wind of all of my watches

Re: Non CW of the Day
Thankyou for the info and link, yes that is the closet I have seen! I think the dial is black on mine or very dark charcoal, photo does not show true colour. I have the original strap which fits my partner (she wears it the most), it has a modified fossil strap on it at the moment as it was the only thing I had here that fitted me. I have another seiko 5 incoming from a relative (free).Dancematt wrote: FYI i think your Seiko is legit, the case shape is right for the era and i've seen it with a blue dial and red numbers just not a grey one but i dont think it could be from another model just rarer, See here:

Just got this very same Blue Mako a few days ago - my first automatic watch! Will post pictures soon, once I adjust the links.Lavaine wrote:
I love this dial in the sunlight! Will I like the 2012 FLE enough to move the Mako from 'dress diver' to beater status? We shall see...
