I had it cleaned up a bit and a new bracelet about 2yrs ago and it hasn't seen a lot of action since. It was my daily work watch for near 20 years. I'm a building contractor so it's had a lot thrown at it.Thermexman wrote:

Ah, I see. A builder? You obviously wear it on your 'mug of tea holding hand'. That explains how it's in such good fettle. No builder I've ever used would spill his tea! That wrist is safer than Fort Knox!reggie747 wrote: I had it cleaned up a bit and a new bracelet about 2yrs ago and it hasn't seen a lot of action since. It was my daily work watch for near 20 years. ^^much as I normally don't really like square faced watches, I must say that Longines does look really classy

Old picture but this today. If my other watches had feelings I'm sure they'd resent this one and the amount of wrist time it gets

Thanks gentleman ^^^^
I do think it's a very classy watch that ticks a lot of boxes for me.

Looking good, too. I thought about getting one of these a few years ago. Time for a google search...neil8fletcher3 wrote:Old picture but this today. If my other watches had feelings I'm sure they'd resent this one and the amount of wrist time it gets

I got my Alpinist from an eBay seller called Citwide-online_uk. He is based in Ireland and as such I didn't pay any tax. I got the recommendation from another forum, no affiliation and thorough research may result in a better deal but I was not disappointed in mine.atnits wrote:Looking good, too. Same as Andy I got mine off eBay from citiwide but it shipped from Manchester so no VAT for importing it. They look a little tricky to get hold of at the moment seiya, creation and citiwide are sold out atm
