Actually, this could easily be the perfect 1 watch.
Part of the reason for the irregular use is the date setting.
Due to the methodology of using the hour hand to set the date, if the date is more than a few days out, I am always reluctant to "stress" the movement by moving the hour hand through huge rotations of multiple days. I therefore tend to wait until the date is near and then set it.
I've never thought of it as stressing the movement anymore than winding the watch forward to set the time... it's actually one of my favourite tings about the 8500.

Currently enjoying a glass of wine with some (semi-)noisy cars going by. It's gone cloudy here & cooled a bit, so I don't expect many to improve their times much.
Tag Heuer Carrera Twin Time today, at the very start of this year's F1 season as first practice kicked off. G'day from Albert Park!

Great watch, have always liked those, had 1 of the previous models in black but got stolen. At last F1 is back and I'm envious of where you are. Please consider doing a separate thread if you have time with your thoughts on what you've seen.

Comments could be added to the F1 thread started a couple of weeks ago.
