Non CW of the Day
Re: Non CW of the Day
^^^^ @Nick and @Richard - said only partly in jest and because:
- I managed to badly scratch a link on the bracelet; so at least it is out of sight.
- I have never been able to get the bracelet on the Sub to fit me as comfortably as others; I think due to the combination of the longer diver clasp and where I need to have it on the micro adjustment. If I ate more buns to increase my wrist size by fleshing it out more it would fit better. But this is not something that I am prepared to do.
I do think that these particular Subs are fine on a decent NATO or a vintage strap - brown, tabac, tan or green. But I realise we all have our own ideocyncrasies where watches/straps are concerned. 5 digit Explorer or Explorer II are bracelet only for me - but not tried a rubber Everest.
Any current 6 digit models I reckon bracelet or Everest/Rubber B only.
Rest assured I have no intention of putting a NATO on a Nomos!
So on balance I haven't really gone over to the dark side!

^^^^ A rather good combo DM. How do the MN straps do up and do you know if the "buckle attachment" is the same as the original MN straps, which must have been very secure, given the situations in which they were put to use?

Re: Non CW of the Day
Hi Neil, from what I've read the originals were just stiched loops instead of clasp and buckle so they just went on the wrist like expansion bracelets. The new versions have a block of metal and a bent back bit of metal (shown) that friction fits into that block. The elastic of the band can then be untightened to give less pressure on the wrist if need be then it never needs adjusting again. It's comfy because of the elasticity and unlimited micro adjustment with no holes but the metal block is not rounded off at the edges so I will get a grinder on it for maximum comfort.nbg wrote:^^^^ A rather good combo DM. Overall a really nice strap, got it from CWC for £30 so cheaper than EO and it can fit fixed bars.
I miss all the great things that may never be.
Re: Non CW of the Day
^^^^ Thanks DM. I can now see from your pic and those on CWC's site how it fastens. It wasn't that clear to me from EO's site. I think I will give one a go, although CWC are out of stock at the moment.
