Re: Non CW of the Day
Now that, I like! Especially the grey textured dial with the orange accents on the bezel, just a little different - definitely one to bear in mind for a future purchase!gaf1958 wrote:Although I would like a titanium Trident, the colour schemes available aren't really my cuppa so to speak. So as an alternative, I've been eyeing off the Mido range, specifically the Ocean Star titanium models. I quite like the Captain IV, but the newer Captain V has some nice touches that raise the bar a bit. Things like the polished bevelling, not only on the case, but on the bracelet and clasp as well. It has adjustable clasp (by about 20mm) on the bracelet is also a plus. I like the charcoal, orange and white colour scheme and it has a nice deep starfish in relief etching on the case back.
Mido is one of the brands in the Swatch stable, but it's one that flys a little under the radar. I've owned a Mido before, so I know they're rather nice watches that are well finished. At 42mm it's a good size but it's nice and svelte at under 12mm thick. It also has an 80 hour power reserve with day as well as date, so a little different from most dive watches (in a Seiko diver day/date kind of way). New in late yesterday and on my wrist today...

That's a nice looking strap, is it Hamilton'? If not, which make? Thx

I set this one mid morning on Boxing Day and it is currently running a cumulative 6 seconds fast - Tudor certainly know how to regulate an ETA movement.
