Oh...get it. Great watchmr_mike wrote:I very nearly bought one of those - I got my old Seiko 5 watch for the first time in a long time (it was an 18th birthday present, sadly that's a while back now!) and realised I do very much like the day-date display.sinner777 wrote:
Vintage look? Check.
Modern watch? Check
Since a Rolex Day-Date is out the question (unless things suddenly change financially!), I've been casting around for rather less expensive options, the Tissot being one, and also there are couple of Hamilton Jazzmasters which I quite like. Plus the new(ish) Breitling Transocean, though that's the wrong side of £3k still and not many used ones around.
The Tissot is a lovely watch, though.

My one bug bear with this watch, and I would probably have tried one otherwise, is the too-short minute hand. Drives me nuts. Otherwise, it looks lovelysinner777 wrote:Oh...get it. Wise indeed. Seriously thinking about doing the same with my Nomos, having tried it on again today and realising I could not buy anything better with the money I'll get for it...MiniMpi wrote:A wise move Mark.

Absolutely. I had a firm plan in my head but it didn't make a lot of sense, especially when you consider the prices of Nomos these days. They are stunning watches and a little different.downer wrote:Wise indeed.
