Re: Non CW of the Day
This is the 40mm version, hence my decision to buy. I agree, the normal Moray is too chunky for me at 42mm (some are 44mm I think) but this hits the sweet spot – it's still chunky but compact.gwells wrote:I love the looks of these, but I'm afraid they're just too big. OK, so I know it breaks my new year resolution/resolve, but with three outgoing, I think I can justify one incoming

I still have the Seiko (Quartz) I was given for my 18th birthday, many many many years ago, but it was the only Seiko that I have.tempusmaximus wrote:^^^^Very nice , I really like the silver dial . Great value for money Seiko 5s .
I heard a number of Forumites mention the value in Seiko 5s and thought I would pick one up. I am Impressed and am now wondering what sort of dress watch style Seiko I could get at say the £200-£300 price point.

I think I'b be looking at a SARB for a Seiko with that budget....nbg wrote:I still have the Seiko (Quartz) I was given for my 18th birthday, many many many years ago, but it was the only Seiko that I have.tempusmaximus wrote:^^^^Very nice , I really like the silver dial . Re: Non CW of the Day
As Chris states, the Seiko SARB range is worth a look at, especially the 033 or 035 models (38mm) ... both are superb automatic dress watches (just acquired one and there are a couple of recent threads on here about this); for a bit more money the slightly larger 045 (nicknamed Cocktail Time) variant is stunning. Next step up from a Seiko 5, as it has the 6R15 hacking/hand winding movement whereas most of the 5s don't have this feature (although as others have said, they are superb value and utilise the still brilliant 7S26 movement). Made for the Japanese domestic market, the SARBs are harder to source in UK (maybe easier down under) and fit approximately bang in the middle of your aforementioned price range.nbg wrote:I still have the Seiko (Quartz) I was given for my 18th birthday, many many many years ago, but it was the only Seiko that I have.tempusmaximus wrote:^^^^Very nice , I really like the silver dial . Re: Non CW of the Day
065 Cocktail Time or Bright Grand Cocktail Time or SARX Urushi dial (higher price) would be my pick.

Bit of a mix up with the Cocktail Time model number above. It should read SARB065 not 045.MadJam250 wrote:
