I am sorry but I don't know.

It's a Lindbergh Hour Angle watch and used for navigation. I would guess that the inner and outer bezel markings are angles used to determine the current longitude position.

The procedure goes like this:

1. Wait for a time signal
2. Rotate bezel
3. Rotate center dial
4. Do some calculations
5. Pull out your GPS device, switch it on and see exactly where you are
6. Voilá
Thanks for that . Main thing is it looks really nice!
Cheers now, Paul

This evening.

Each time I put this on I am reminded how beautiful it is. It's so much better on the wrist rather than in the box

Plenty of Saturday best on show today. To complete the set I think we need a 14060M on sand nato, Geophysic, BBN and JLC Duo-face!

The authoritative guide to Panerai sizing (pics always show lugs sticking out more than in real life):

42mm Radiomir 1950 (curvy case, ultra slim)
Image

44mm Luminor (non-1950, so slab side case)
Image

44mm Luminor 1950 (curvy case but this one's automatic so thicker)
Image

47mm Luminor 1950 (curvy case)
Image

Not much difference between the 44mm standard and 47mm 1950 case in actual wearability.

They all look waaaay too big – all dial, no bezel so 42mm wears like 45mm.

They do, however, make a nice 40mm Luminor

Sorry Bern, missed this.

It is made by a chap in Romania who does belts, wallets and the occasional watch strap!!!! Am getting some 22mm ones done. This one normally lives on the Lum Tec, but I thought that I would try it on this!

It is soft, not too thick, extremely comfortable and smells fantastic (just like the proper old cobblers/shoemakers back in the old days.)
