I think it's a photographic aberration caused by the box-shaped crystal. I've noticed it on other watches with similar crystals - but only in pictures. In real life it's no issue.

It's an interesting phenomenon, lots of people on forums bag them for just that, but I suspect many have not seen them in person...

Yep, a lot of people dismiss watches for all manner of reasons - based on internet pictures, rather than real life. I like to think I have learned from my mistakes, and I try not to judge until I have seen with my own eyes and hands.
