Working from the office on a Friday (my version of a Saturday, since the weekend is different in Dubai) :(
Put my Louis Erard on this nato and I both love and hate it, what do you guys think?

I like the watch: resonates with some EPs. I think it looks good on that NATO with the colour coding......but perhaps for occasional use rather than becoming clichéd?

Same here - the strap kills the look of a lovely piece. They were never meant for each other.

I'm not a NATO strap fan, but I like that combo. The colors mesh in a pleasing way.

PS When I was younger, it was a bit strange adjusting to the different weekends when we moved to Amman and later to Abu Dhabi (right down the road from you). Then we moved back to the States and I had to adjust all over again!

I'm originally Jordanian! How long were you in Amman for?

We moved to Amman in 1981 and moved back to the US in '83. My father was a missile engineer with Raytheon and was one of the managers on the HAWK missile program that was purchased by the RJAF. I was 10 years old when we moved there and quickly developed a real love for history and archaeology (you can't help but do so there!). After the culture shock wore off, I came to really love Jordan. I still miss it.

Here is a photo you might find interesting:

That's my dad meeting King Hussein sometime in 1982 during an inspection at their facility in Zarqa. Snazzy plaid sport coat, eh?
