Without wanting to take this thread off-topic, it was my error, and there was plenty of light. I had the autofocus set incorrectly, and it grabbed a focus point in a sub-optimal position on the watch. The camera was set at f10,1/15 second.chrisw wrote:what sort of f stop are you aiming for and is it the lights are too weak to allow a sufficiently small aperture at the iso rating you want to use, just curious because I have just bought a cheap although quite large light tent on the bay and have the choice of prosumer flash or supposed daylight temp lamps or daylight. also cant decide whether to go for smallest aperture f22 because Im aware that lens performance will fall off at the edges. having got into all of that very nice watch and id be more than happy with those photographic results.downer wrote:Thanks - although when I study the picture, I can see it's not quite sharp at the top of the dial... Nice one Nick, love the 'broad arrow' hands and aluminium bezel; a cut above the normal G-shock.

The aviation g-shocks are quite nice watches in their own way.
