Well I finally got to see the Club today. Lots of things I liked about it. The size (at 36mm) was great. The dial was really nice - better than I had expected. It seemed chunkier and sportier than their other models, which I also liked. And it seemed really well made.

I wasn't completely sold though, particularly due to the extra long lugs making a large gap between the strap and the case. It'll take a bit of getting used to.

I really liked it, without loving it. I'll think it over.

I really liked the Club too, but those loooong lugs just spoil it. I've decided the Zurich is just right for me.

Do you have problems with long lugs? Then call 0800 00 LEATHER NATO:

I often think people like Nomos but rarely buy them because something else always catches their eye better, at least that's how it seems. Too understated + not much history x not a big name = I think il get that Omega instead?
I miss all the great things that may never be.

That leather nato solves the problem well!

I really wanted to love the watch, but I'm not quite there. I still might go for it though. For the price, I'm not sure there are many alternatives that match the quality.

Nomos, fantastic watches and I tried quite a few of them on at an AD. Wasn't too impressed by the club or the Orion just seemed too small and the long lugs did nothing for me other than leave a large gap, they certainly didn't make the watch look bigger. I ended up buying a Stowa, half the price and had more of a presence than the Nomos and without those odd lugs.

Now the Zurich on the other hand was a lovely looking watch in every way. I was initially thinking of the brown to be a bit different but it doesn't really catch the light. The cream dial one is nice but the blue dial one really is something. Will be picking one up hopefully later in the year. If you go Nomos get the Zurich!

The white Tangmat is a lovely-looking watch. I have yet to see one in person, but it is on my list of watches to check out. If it looks as minimalistically refined in person as it does in pictures then it would be very tempting.

I've been reading up on the company and their watches. Think I might be getting closer now...

I think you're right. I've been toying between a new Club v a vintage Omega or Rolex. I think the Nomos will feel more special somehow.
