Okay, so all the hip, slick and cool kids in the US are sporting Nixon watches these days. I've always thought of Nixon the same as other over priced, lame fashion watches. Fossil is one that comes to mind. Anyway, one of the kids at work was wearing a Nixon the other day and I asked to see it. I thought it was pretty cool and did some research.
He was wearing the Channel-T.
Turns out this thing has a swiss movement and monitors the tide/moon phase. Handy for a surfer or a surf fisher. I just thought it looked cool and at 100m WR, it'd make a good watch for playing in water.
After looking around the Nixon site a bit, turns out they are upping the ante with some Swiss auto's w/ sapphire. I really like The Capital (sorry no link, the new autos appear in pop-ups) and The Ceramic is definitely an example of outside the box thinking.
Check them out.
