@Redpat First off, congrats on your new watch, I was curious enough about it to open the Bremont website. I've never handled a Bremont and, as I'm sure you'll know, they receive a lot of press on here - not all of it of the clamorous type. I've tried to hold fire and not pass judgement. Personally I don't care who's at the helm of the company, and I care less if what they do now is a departure from what they've done in the past. Value and great design will always be the drivers of whatever I'm entertaining as a future watch buy. The Terra Nova looks nice, as does the Supermarine bi-colour. In fact, that looks total class. I will keep a curious eye on Bremont going forward. Enjoy that new watch.

@strapline . Thanks, I really enjoy my Bremonts. I had no previous knowledge of the brand so Ive come to them with a fresh pair of eyes. As long as the quality is there and I like the design then I'm a happy bunny. It's refreshing to here from someone with an open mind and willing to plough their own furrow.
I don't think you'd be disappointed with any of the current range but that bicolour diver either on the bracelet or strap is a stunner.
Another couple of gratuitous shots😂

Thanks Pat, its getting more likely that this is going to be the next acquisition. I am with you on buying what one wants, every now again there is an element of self doubt.

Obviously it wouldn't make sense for me as I have the Supermarine 300 in green, just a fantastic watch that wears incredibly well. The bracelet is just excellent. Then the bicolour just takes it even higher. As you said, you've been in that boutique and keep returning so you know that they are a very nice, stylish, well built piece.
As I previously mentioned, the general consensus is that consumers are getting used to the rebrand, the sales figures from the boutique I frequent would suggest that, of course I only have their word but the footfall has increased dramatically and I've witnessed quite a few purchases personally while there.
From your posts and your collection you come across as a man who knows what he likes and if you do want one, go for it. One of these certainly wouldn't look out of place with all your other watches. It doesn't really matter what anyone else's opinion is as long as it makes you happy. Let me know if the temptation gets too much.
All the best

Des, in the majority of cases I would agree with this, however I had a slightly different mindset with Bremont. For me at least it was about their watches and case design, but also their watch making ambitions.

They used to manufacture all cases in house and prior to building the wing, used to still use local engineering firms to make them for them. Of course this increased the costs but I was willing to pay that for the fact they were built in the way they were.

To me, Bremont was not just another watch company who outsourced their manufacturing overseas which is what they have now become. As someone who bought in to their concept, I will always be disappointed with their change of direction but I do understand they probably needed to change to survive.

These new watches are now just watches to me, I like them, but no more than many others at their price point and sadly the old Bremont for me has gone.

Morning Iain. Just to clarify, what I said wasn't meant as any kind dig at you - purely my own standpoint where watch purchases are concerned. Your explanation makes a lot of sense, particularly given your engineering background. I've always thought that Bremont appeared comparitively costly and I'm not sure that has changed. I just think I am able to look at these new models from a restructured brand with no bias. Like all watches, if I get one in hand at any point, I'll judge them on their own merits.

@strapline Don’t worry Des, I never saw your comment as a dig, I just read it and thought it was a point worth clarifying for the benefit of others who may not be fully aware of the background to Bremont.
