I understand what you're saying about other nice and tasteful Omega models being available and I agree but for better or worse Omega are the "owners" of a bit of history for which there is global interest, i.e the 50th anniversary of the Moon Landing with it's associated watch. It would have been so easy for them to make subtle changes to the standard Moonwatch, maybe an enamelled mid plate on the back and different packaging, and have it on release for 6 months or a year or so at a small premium rather than 6969 pieces at double the cost of the standard Moonwatch.nbg wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 12:39 pmStill there are plenty of other decent Omega models available at a decent price. The other day I saw someone selling a month old current model 39.5mm Planet Ocean that has an RRP of £5k for £3k.
Mind you those of us on watch forums live in a bubble. I would suggest that the general buying public would typically spend less than £500 on a watch and if you stuck a Speedmaster In front of them would have no clue that it’s generally considered a must try watch by WIS.

I have a standard Hesalite version that I love but I would have bought another if it was as I suggest but I won't go anywhere near 1 of the 6969 LEs.
