New 'old' Pepsi diver arrival

Post by Monkey »

Well, Tissot Man strikes again (thought I'd get that in first )

Had this just come in, a vintage Tissot Navigator 'Pepsi' divers watch, from around the late 70's :)

It is in unusually good condition for a watch of this kind, and has a screw down crown and a nice 'click' when turning the bezel. No original bracelet, but that's not a problem as I'd have probably put it on a leather strap anyway!!

Still quite fancy a Trident, altho maybe not the 'pepsi' version now, but this is a better fit on my wrist, so we'll have to see?!!

Thanks for looking :D

Wow! That looks to be in terrific condition for a 30+ year old watch.

I recognise the car from somewhere.{edit} WUS :)

That's lovely, John. I do like a pepsi, especially for that retro 70s look, but the style of the dial on that is quite modern / aged well. Great catch and thanks for sharing.

Yep, I was amazed when I saw the condition....it's hardly got a mark on it!! :D

The 'car' is a cartoon of my car on the old trusty mousemat :)

Thanks :D there's just that extra 'something' about the watches from this era 8)

It's funny because with the release of the Trident, I was looking at the various versions, then saw Dions 'pepsi' and thought it looked nice, then the Tissot came up, and I've only ever seen one other before, so it had to be done!! :D

Very nice John.....you know my soft spot for vintage pieces and this one can hold its own with any of them.

Thanks for the comments chaps :D

Just got a little piccy of the movement, a Tissot 2481 auto, which is also nice and clean, but not decorated, for obvious reasons

Great find. What diameter is the case?

Not particularly big.....the case is about 36mm across, and 41mm inc the quite large crown!!

Fits my skinny wrist a treat tho :D

Not to thread hijack, but we know I love an unusual watch and this "pepsi" / "coke" which I acquired today certainly fits into that category. I suspect a marmite effect on the forum...
