New Brand For Me: Bell & Ross (Not Brand New!)

Post by gaf1958 »

I’ve not owned a Bell & Ross before, but I’ve admired the odd one or three. Still quite a young brand, they’ve made quite a place for themselves with some readily identifiable styling characteristics - what many would term “DNA”.

Ask a WIS about Bell & Ross and they’d probably talk about the square cased models - the ones that the CW C11 MSL and the later Makaira were inspired by. But there are many others, still with the classic B&R design cues.

I picked this one up recently - a 41mm BR 126 chronograph with the ETA 2894 movement, meaning it’s nice and slim (for a chrono). It has the not very flattering name of Vintage Beige. I’ll simply refer to it as cream  as in reality, it’s anything but beige...

And so, some photos.

Not seen that one before Gary, as you say we all get embroiled in Bell & Ross watches being square.

Cream dial (vintage beige, phaff) is lovely and legibility, no difficulties there.

Really lovely Gaz. Ceegee used to have the black / vintage version. Nice size, good case design and great feeling of quality. Having owned a couple of them myself I think they are underrated.
Nice pick up
Cheers now, Paul

Excellent addition to the collection Gary.

I've definitely warmed to B&R over the past year or so, probably more so on their round watches rather than the square ones, although I don't rule them out as I've owned a number of C11's myself, still own the Elite.

That's really nice, very clear to read. I do like B&R watches (just not the square ones).

That’s really nice, Gary. The legibility looks outstanding as with most B&R watches.

Yeah - know that one - I bought it - it was my first B&R -lovely watch
...but I found, later on, that I was not a big fan of all black PVD cases - so it was moved on - I somewhat regret that decision now (having got a CW C60 Trident PVD and love it) - hey ho!
I'd certainly recommend a foray into their wares - French brand - a great quality and legibility.
I've actually being looking around at B&Rs recently and would certainly look to buy one in the future.

Nice buy Gary
Love the cream dial
