Thanks everyone - I thought this one would go down well
To Leo, the lugs are quite long which puts some people off but does mean the smaller case size wears better on larger-wristed folk. It's also the reason why NATO straps work, filling the gap between case and lug.

But as you pointed out, it's not a Seiko or a G shock!

Yes, a massive 3 replies, yours included.
Still, I don't do it for the likes. I do it because I like

Re: New arrival
Congratulations, John, on a lovely acquisition. Your thoughts on it are very relevant to me at the moment, as I've been trying to decide if the Club Datum would fit me well or not.
Your thought/research process seems to be quite similar to mine too. Except, for me, the "panic, one's come up, frantic research, shall I buy it" phase is normally triggered by one of YOUR sales posts!

Re: New arrival
Congrats, IAJ, and welcome to the Nomos owners' club!
Pity you couldn't get a display back version. Their movements are really worth viewing (ogling) through the window.

Re: New arrival
I posted on this last night but somehow it didn't make it so heres the shortened version:
1) awesome watch, as I say welcome to the club club! I'm sure it'll stay for a long time and help shape your collection. Looking at it, one could almost justify owning both the cream and the Dunkel together.
2) the strap looks much better than I thought but I honestly think Nomos were made for leather natos which close the gaps between the long lugs and increase the feel of the watch when worn
3) why the he'll are Nomos discontuing the club? I love the brand but also feel frustrated by their choices. The Metro has grown on me, it's cute but the Club is almost steve mcqueen cool (I could see him wearing a few Nomos, they really are the brand of this decade)
4) Mine says Hi

I miss all the great things that may never be.
Re: New arrival
Nice pickup! I was watching this one myself, but forgot to bid, so let me know if you decide to part with it...

A watch with great retro charm. Congrats. And great storytelling too, really enjoyed that.

Re: New arrival
Ah, yes… there's a story behind that.Dancematt wrote:Awaiting the leather nato look IAJ
I got the confirmation of shipping email last Thursday but it still hadn't arrived this morning so I checked the details again and… I managed to put my work address but with my home postcode
I've been assured it will arrive, once the home address postie realises the mistake and sticks it back in manual sorting. Obviously it's going to take a bit longer than expected though
I did, however, take delivery of another NATO today so might try that. Otherwise, the Nomos straps have been neatly hole-punched to fit so whatever happens, tomorrow is Nomos Wednesday
