Call me cynical but Rolex can now release this then come back and release the old Air King as a classic/vintage. Bit like when Coke changed the formula, New Coke, and then had to put out the original as Coke Classic as consumer backlash.
As I've said earlier in post the New Explorer looks like the the old Air King and the new Air King just looks too cluttered and wrong.
The (old) Air King would be the Rolex of choice for myself as imo it's understated, refined and not in the look, look, I've got a Rolex shouty camp (yes, I'd even put Explorer 2 in that camp).

It would have to be the Explorer for me. Not that I am thinking about another Rolex, honestly I'm not.

My EXP 2 and I are both offended! Seriously though, as yet not once has anyone ever noticed my watch - hoping it stays that way.st-rider wrote:Call me cynical but Rolex can now release this then come back and release the old Air King as a classic/vintage. The Air King just makes me want a vintage one even more than I did before.
