Thank you Ferg - I would never have guessed where I would be today with how it started such a short while ago.

I tried a sub date and a polar 16570 together in a shop a couple of years ago. Loved them both.

A sub is the correct answer to so many watch questions.

Totally agree with this. I very nearly came away with a 16570 but the Sub just seemed right. I have been trying and failing to fall in love with a diver since the start of this ; finally I might have managed it. If this Sub wasn't there today I would now be the proud owner of an ex2 - probably black.

There was me thinking the gmt was the last one in.

What I find so curious about the way you collected Mark is how you have stuck to the very same design consistently without fail. Perhaps minor deviations on that theme such as the odd Nomos or WEW but essential each one has been exact to the last until the smpc which is what brought out the rotating bezel models that followed and yet now we have two separate overlaps in a 5 watch collection.

The OP and GS could have been separated at birth and the gmt and sub are brothers plain and simple. Always admired your collection but always thought it odd not to experiment and enjoy other areas of horology. Still 5 could easily become 3 here if need be. I think really you are a one watch guy and the sub is the only one thaat can fill all roles equally from the five.
I miss all the great things that may never be.

Pete,
Interesting thoughts.as usual and very hard to argue with. Time will tell but for the first time I can.genuinely say I'm very happy with where I have ended up and the style of watch within. I think I have enough similarity and difference to keep me happy and interested.

You may be right on the one watch thing. Lets see how 5 does in the interim. 10 or 20 definitely did not suit me - I think we can all agree on that.
