Glad you had a nice day out picking up your watch Gary, it does look nice :D

Apologies I couldn't get the day off from work to come along with you..... dam work, it does seem to get in the way of things some times.
It would be good to see this in the metal if you fancy wearing it to salon QP next month :D

Were you wearing a CW when you visited? They were quite interested in my C5a mk2 when I was there.

Good choice on the parchment dial - I think that's the one I'd go with.

I was wearing my C900 SP, and also had my C9 JH MKII with me.

Great story and watch. Thanks for sharing Gary. Hopefully we'll see it at a GTG sometime!

Brilliant to read that. As an aside, one of Team Savoir Faire's wives will be teaching both of my sons.

Sounds like a good day out and I must admit to regular visits to the Pinchbeck site. My only personal concern is the relatively small size (compared to the majority of my current watches). Given you have some of the bigger CW's, does the George feel small to you, it looks good on the wrist ?

Oh boy! I've just fallen in lust with the Brough SS101. I saw it had a price tag of £2000 underneath its photo so I was excitedly rummaging for my credit card when I realised that this was just the deposit! My tastes are getting more expensive, methinks. I have three watches on my radar now, and the cheapest one is £3,500.

I must resist ... or win the lottery.

Well I have had my C900 SP on all day until I returned home at about 4pm, since then I have worn the Pinchbeck George. Yes at first it did feel very small. I am a lover of large watches, biggest is 54mm. So I was worried. After wearing the George for several hours I have to say I really love the feel and look of it. Looking at it now it looks just right, and brings a smile to my face. This could be down to the cider consumed in the last hour ( No work tomorrow) but I know it is that I love the watch.

I must admit that the SS101 is a great watch, the one I handled today was undersize so I would have to see the full size. I think the one today was 38mm. The SS100 also is a bit of a head turner. :D

I find that I hold onto a piece far longer if there's a story involved. Here's to hoping that one stays in your collection!

That's the way to buy a watch - a day out, nice chat to the seller - much more memorable than eBay.

I look forward to seeing that one some day.
