Last update on the Markus Ruby I hope - some judicious smidges of adjustment in either direction have resulted in this watch now running to time - might be losing a few seconds but its near enough and anyway, will loosen further. Have fitted a deep blue strap with contrast stitching which puts a visual few bob on the plot (see 'straps' post in OFFtopic.) NOW I am pleased with it; s'alright!...UB.. :D

Hi people, new to the site. Try; stratosphere-watches.com. The skeleton watch on this site looks very much like the markus ruby. Came accross them while trying to find the origins of stratosphere, of which I have the auto moon phase. I have , to date, been unable to find any info on my watch.

Welcome Furrbank...Have done a bit of Googling and found this on Watchuseek forum,

'I guess you mean http://www.stratosphere-watches.com/

I've no idea who they are. The simple skeleton models use a Standard movement so there's no guessing where they sourced that, the triple-calendar skeletons use Hangzhou movements, the GMT has 22 jewels so it's probably not the famous Shanghai version (don't bet on it having independently settable GMT hand) and the Navitimer-like has a quartz which is most likely a Miyota.

Stratosphere probably don't assemble their own watches because they'd want to show photos of their factory if they did. Therefore they are most likely yet another fly-by-night brand owner creating their model range out of variously sourced OEM products.'

I had assumed my skeleton handwound was a Chinese movement,I only paid £24 for it and it looks well and keeps time....UB

Hi uncle bob, the post on watchuseek was a reponse to the same question that i posted ref stratosphere.
Thanks for trying though, appreciate your efforts. Mine cost me £50 (inc £4 pp), maybe too much? but it is nicely made, keeps excellent time and looks good. I also assumed they were oriental in origin, who knows?
Thanks again. furrbank.

Seriously Bill, I do not see how a jug of soapy water and a rubber tube will improve anyone’s memory! By the way….. who’s Kip?
