Magrette Regattare

Post by lloyd_m »

Quick photo of my latest acquisition. I bought it before Christmas but I've only just taken delivery. This is No.8 of a limited edition of 50 with the ETA 2824-2 movement. It's quite a chunky monkey so the 44mm strap, which is really soft, isn't out of place and it wears extremely comfortably.

I like the clarity of the dial and it has a great lume; I'll get some more shots when I have time.

Lovely.

What Dion does with the Panerai shape case is, to my mind, better than Panerai.

I'm wearing my chrono at the moment, with the same strap as that, as it's my evening chill-out watch because it's so comfortable, the strap is so soft.
So I wish I was James Bond, just for the day.

Single crown on the Tiki Vs dual crowns and the Tiki has no rotating internal bezel (controlled by the second crown on the 2011).

I like Magrette anyway but I like that most of all. Sadly it joins the C8 and the Incursore as lovely watches that are just too big for me.Although I'd love to be convinced otherwise.

This is essentially my attitude toward Magrette. Good watches. Great value. Sadly, too big.

Enjoy yours Lloyd! :)

oddly enough, it was peteo's tiki that convinced me i could pull the magrette off, even though i wasn't comfy with the size of the C8. can't explain why i'm ok w/magrette and not c8, though.

I'm taking this as a sign that, as I AM comfortable with the C8 (and 44mm Steinhart NavB II chrono), that I will be able to carry off a Magrette too - despite discounting it in the past on size grounds.

This is all hypothetical of course, until I save up enough dosh again for one. :)

we're all different :), but i would think so. at least size-wise. it is a heavier watch.

that said, peteo has a navB chrono and decided the tiki wasn't for him. i'll let him speak up to whether this was style or fit, i don't remember specifically what he said.
