I would assume it to be the same tech as found in the recent Nokia with 41Mp:

yes, lots of megapixels, and in good light on a sunny day etc should be fine - the issue will be noise with low light...

and yes, it is ugly :)

But more megapixels doesn't necessarily mean a better image. I mean, they're pretty much into Hasselblad territory there, but with a sensor that has perhaps one tenth of the pixel density and image area.

End result: crappy cell phone style photos that are more than 20Mb each -> You run out of storage space very quickly

I am trying to remember what I said about this when I first saw it posted. I am pretty sure it wasn't a positive critique. That thing is a joke piece surely?
