I've heard it before somewhere. It might have been something I read/saw on Disney Imagineering.

I found the mix of robotics and human expertise fascinating. Details like only having two people in the company able to put the finish on some of the wheels. And the woman that makes final adjustments to the hairsprings after a year of training!

Can't imagine any of these skilled people going into work the morning after a night on the town or frankly, being anything less than incredibly calm.

ideation is a pretty common phrase in the design world, but if you're not in that realm, it may not have crossed your path.

I usually last a few minutes on videos. This one had me start to finish.

Really interesting, really cool to see the process, and has actually got me seriously looking at these.
Great post thanks!

Thank you for posting this. It's not a channel I watch, so I probably would have missed it.

What a wonderful advert for Nomos and also indicative of the culture and quality of the wider German watch making industry. I've recently bought a Club Campus and am wearing it as I type this. It's only the most basic of their models but is beautifully made. I'm continually amazed at the quality they can produce for the prices they ask; particularly as they also support an AD channel. If they were a Swiss brand they'd probably be selling for 2x or 3x these prices!

I'm deep into a Nomos wormhole at present and there's a fascinating story about some of the many Nomos LE's at: https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/buyin ... d-editions It must say something when you've got a pair of master watch makers from Lange & Söhne running a Nomos collectors forum...

Wonderful. For me the best possible advert for a watch. I love the contrast between designing the watches in Berlin and building them in Glashutte. :D

Have been eyeing up the Club Campus collection for a few weeks. They look lovely. Very tempting. What colour/size did you go for?

I went for the night version in 38mm. It’s difficult to accurately describe the colour, a very dark grey that in some lighting can appear as a very dark brown.

I’ve said it before but my Tangente is the only one I still regret selling.

There is the watch brand Lundis Bleus whose name apparently comes from when watch makers would take the day off rather than come in either hungover or spend another day in the pub.
