Nice one! I’ve not looked closely at IWC, but that bracelet - and its easy resizing system - makes the watch. I’m not always sold on bracelets but, hands down, it’s a winning combination. Well done!

I have huge watch envy, it looks really really good. This IWC is the reason I have the CW C8 MK1 (although now a little large at 44mm) as it was the "homage" version 12 years ago. On a personal note, I prefer the look of it it on a leather strap and would change those regularly to suit my mood!
One day, not any day soon, I hope to have the IWC on my wrist.

@RichM
Thanks for being so kind. I don’t think this watch could possibly disappoint once you have it on your wrist. When you post a picture of it here I’ll be able to pop up and say ‘Mine says Hi’
@iain is also in the club.
I think the bracelet looks great and is an absolute joy to wear, but the watch looks so striking on black leather too. I’ll definitely be switching between the two on random whims

@RichM as Lindsey says I’m sure you’ll love your IWC when you get one on your wrist.
I read with interest throughout this thread just how many of us didn’t know about the IWC bracelet adjust method or have said they haven’t looked too closely at IWC before. IWC seem to be one of those brands that not everyone ‘gets’ but those that do certainly love their watches. This is coming through from Lindsey’s OP where she says she’s overlooked them before but interested to see what they are about, right through to her falling in love with her watch over the course of a few days.
Didn’t Mike France also say he’s a big fan.

Re: Interesting (for me) incoming : It’s Here!
I knew of IWC initially through @downer ’s ingenieur, which has always been one of my favourite forum watches. But I never delved further into IWC until @iain showed up and showed off his collection. Even then it was vintage IWC watches that I started exploring. Even then I wouldn’t have ended up owning this watch if I hadn’t seen it in sales corner.
Serendipity I reckon.
But there must be something about IWC that brought me here

I have just remembered a thread about the IWC bracelet - from a few years ago:

IWC owners, what are your overall thoughts on the new Mark XX?
Re: Interesting (for me) incoming : It’s Here!
I tried it on at the London boutique last year. It’s an upgrade on the MkXVIII, especially with the new in house movement with 120 hour power reserve.
It didn’t prompt me to upgrade from my existing watch but if I was looking now for the first time I’d certainly be interested.

Also for me the IWC has genuine heritage when it comes to pilots watches and it's that history I fall for as much as anything.
I'm a huge Bremont fan and whilst I've (literally) bought into the story of how the company was started and the inspiration behind the early pilots style watches there's no doubting they don't have the history in aviation that IWC can legitimately claim.

I've not got an IWC but have got a Classic Flieger from one of the other long standing Aviator watch manufacturers; Stowa.
Worn yesterday evening and this morning (but an old photo).

Maybe I'll get an IWC one day but, at a glance, I somehow find their range of Mk XVI, XVIII etc. somewhat bewildering.

Fantastic.
I have my name down for an explorer but the XX would have been the alternative. Upgrades to things that I find handy such as the microadjust in the clasp and improvements to the power reserve and water resistance
Compared to the new ingenieur reasonable value as well
Cheers now, Paul

Re: Interesting (for me) incoming : It’s Here!
Thanks - it was interesting to read that again. I appreciated @nbg ’s comment about weighing up the importance of the various components of a watch - case, dial, bracelet, WR, movement. And this comes round to @Emphasis asking for opinions on the Mark XX. For me, I don’t see the Mark series as being a succession of watches that all improve on what’s gone before. For me they’re a collection to choose from that each offer a slightly different set of components.
I would rather wear an ETA-based ‘highly modified’ movement that I can afford than not be able to wear a watch at all. In-house movements don’t carry so much extra cache for me. 60m WR is really and truly enough for me. The dimensions of the xvi are so perfect for me I wouldn’t look anywhere else. Micro-adjust on the bracelet? That would be nice - but not if I have to compromise on fit.

I’ve always liked IWC. Utilitarian, very stylish, legible and instantly recognizable. Congrats, it looks really good on your wrist, Lindsey.

Congratulations - excellent daily wear !
We have a lot of similar taste in watches, I was looking for something simple/elegant for a daily watch and bought the GO Senator pilot last year.
