Here is a photo of the back of my bracelet

See those circular markings on each link? You depress those in using either the IWC bracelet sizing tool, or the tip of a ball point pen.

With mine then the ends just pull away but I think with yours it should release a pin inside the link that you can very easily push out with a bent paper clip or spare bracelet pin. You should be able to see the ends of the pins on the bracelet sides and they might be quite flush to the bracelet and look bigger than a normal bracelet hole.

Just note that as you take this apart it is possible to separate each part to just take care to note where each part is from.

Regarding how it is attached, mine uses normal springbars and while I can’t speak for your older one, I’d be surprised if it didn’t use them as well.

^^^^ There’s a reason I keep saying IWC make the best bracelets. This adjustment design has been on both my pilots, my aquatimer and my Ingenieur. It makes them so easy to adjust but I assume it’s copyrighted as no one else has copied it (yet) as far as I know. There may be other Richemont brands that use it under licence though.

I had no idea this type of bracelet sizing system existed, that is a genius idea! Is that an IWC patent? They must have some big brains working for them.

Congrats on the watch. I don't think I ever would have guessed this one! It looks great on you. I hope you thoroughly enjoy it.

I assume so as I’ve not seen it anywhere else. The IWC easy exchange system to swap straps and bracelets on their newer watches is also excellent. I believe they use the Cartier system under licence as they are both part of the Richemont group.

grats! i think the 5-link bracelets like that are phenomenally comfortable. i love the one i have on my sinn 556i. they also feel *slightly* dressier than the heavier looking oyster style bracelets.

Your new watch looks pretty good, Lindsey.

I know what you mean about the size. when I first bought a dressy watch in 40mm plus, my first reaction was that it was big, but over time it became normal. That's why its hard for me to buy anything under 40mm nowadays.

What a clever strap system. Just as well you asked. You could have done a fair bit of damage with a normal tool, I expect.

Well I thought that being a watchie was niche enough, but an IWC fangirl- well that’s niche of a niche! I feel pretty special to be part of the gang 8)
