Perhaps if you had mentioned this in your original post you wouldn't have received the replies that were made.
£167.50 seems perfectly reasonable given what is required.

Call me an old cynic but i bet that's what they churn out to most people. I would put dime to dollar that they could have just done the battery and seals and it would've been fine.
Anyway, too late now so i hope it comes back nice & shiny
If you can read this you are too close to your computer screen....

I have a Sea Touch and the battery expired in less then a year. Found out after reading the manual that it has a power saving feature, but no one reads the manuals,do they??? Anyway, took it back to Ernest Jones and they said a battery change would cost £70. Luckily I had about 4 days to go before the warranty was up so I got it done free.Came back working as it should be with the old seal and old case back screws in a bag as they changed them to.I cant see that a battery change can be that tricky to do it yourself but on these touches they have to be reset. I found a site on the interweb that tells you how.Next time I may try it myself.£167 does seem like a real ****$ take to me.I'd baulk at £70 to be honest for a battery I can get for a quid
