Holiday watch itch - £300 budget
Re: Holiday watch itch - £300 budget
Thanks guys these are all good options. I love the last Scurfa even if it was a quartz.
got a few options I'm toying with now and a diminishing budget due to a last minute weekend away to Brighton.

I also have the Scurfa Silicon One, it's an incredibly well made watch for the money, designed by a commercial diver so it should stand up to years of abuse....

Wish I could get my hands on one of these but sadly, they're all sold out

I'm not sure that I would take my MVC over my Seiko as a holiday watch, as much as I love my MVC its a bit heavy for the Nato strap that is supplied (or even a heavy duty Zulu) and I'd be worried about scratching its PVD surface or mineral glass.
The Seiko is a much more robust option, even if it gets a bit warm under the rubber strap (and much easier to read).
Alternatively, get an Invicta Sub, junk the bracklet and get a strippy Nato and pocket the £200 change for future purchases (which is what I've done)

How about a Borealis.
Depending on the exchange rate it could work out about £20.00 over your budget though.

You could take a look here:
http://www.creationwatches.com/products ... _25+off_21
There are a couple of Seiko Monsters and an Orient M-Force Titanium in the list, plus an extra 10% off with the code at the top of the page.

I am not a collector of watches. I used to be able to say that and know I was telling the truth.

I'd go for a Squale, I really do fancy one of their watches. For that sort of money you can't do much better IMO.
Re: Holiday watch itch - £300 budget
Here we are and now I like it too much that I need a cheap divers watch to use while this stays safely in the box
Re: Holiday watch itch - £300 budget
So after a lot of searching on Ebay and the sales section every hour on the hour (when I was supposed to be working!!) the fruit of my original post has arrived.
£160 wasn't the cheapest on Ebay but it was the fastest delivery and I needed it before holiday next week.
The Squale purchase was slightly mad to be honest but its such a nice watch that I'm kinda glad I took the plunge. I'll do a write up shortly.
But this is the watch I should have bought all along.
When I took it from the box I couldn't believe how good it looked and it just felt like so much watch for the money. However being a Seiko Kinetic Dive watch owner I know that the glass is going to get scratched up in time so I'm not expecting it too look this good for long.
the bracelet is cheap and rubbish but its very comfortable and I see no reason to replace it.
Overall I'm chuffed to bits and it was so cheap compared to the watches I'm constantly dreaming about or adding to online baskets only to shut down the web page as a sudden wave of common sense comes over me.
