Are you able to try actual pieces on? Because when I had to choose between a Tangente and an Orion (both looked good to me), I found that while the former's looks and dial had always appealed to me on paper, on my wrist it was just too many straight planes and sharp corners and edges, esp the lugs. I much preferred the Orion's curves.

On dial looks alone, though, I do prefer the Tangente to the Ludwig. But if an Orion is also available, I would suggest you try all 3.

Although I prefer the size of the Tangente, the Ludwig would be my choice.

Dom is right... no bad choice here. :D

For me it would/will be the Tangente Power Reserve with/without date, preferably a Wempe.

A very good idea. thank you. Day-trip to London it is, then! 8)

Others have said it all so there's not much left for me to add. Wise words from Asqwerth; do try them on before committing to a substantial outlay. On aesthetics alone my choice is the tangente but I've never seen any nomos in the flesh and you really need to handle and feel a watch before making a judgement about the right one for you.

Wise words indeed, Leo! I have never seen one either, my nearest dealer is in Cambridge but a Saturday in London will offer the chance to visit more than one dealer. No real hurry, I'd rather get it right...I do keep going to the Nomos website though!

Just had a great day out in London and popped into Jura Watches - now that is a very nice shop!
I got to try on all the Nomos(es) they had, but they don't have the manual Tangente at the moment, which is the one I want (I did try an automatic of the same size). Still, a few weeks' waiting won't hurt!
I had my gold Omega on for size comparison and when I put it on the table the guy said "That is a really beautiful watch!"...I like that bloke!
I also went to the Clockmakers Museum, but that is another thread

If you go for the Tangente I would consider the model with crystal caseback and date as the movement is well worth seeing! I love my Tangomat and I rather like the look of the new Zurich, also automatic and a slightly bigger 39.7mm case with newly designed lugs. What a choice!

LUCKY! I am waiting for this opportunity to come my way. Personally, I really like the Orion, (rose, if you want to send me one) but out of your two options, I'm with you and like the roman numerals.

Will definitely order the Glasboden, Robin, but my other parameter is fixed...MANUAL! 8)

People would talk!
I'm actually going for the Tangente (Arabic)...I just love that design and layout on the numbers.
