H Moser Limited Edition Perpetual Calendar

Post by missF »

This is great. I love when art and text come together. Moser are again challenging a lot of conventions so the watch won’t be for everyone. As the article says:

There is, to put it simply, a healthy sense of snark at play here,.

I enjoy Moser :D

Interesting and certainly something that defies a few conventions. Leaving aside the CHF59,000 it’s actually a very neat way to do a perpetual calendar. Unfortunately, my inner traditionalist wants conventional indices on the dial. With those I would find it very attractive indeed.

My UN has a similar party trick with the date in that you can adjust it forward or backward at any time. If you take the hour hand backwards through midnight by pressing the minus button, the data changes backwards as well. Being my usual cautious self I tend to set it to 6 o’clock out of habit anyway before adjusting the date.

Moser's reputation for funny, clever watches has carried them a long way. This is the watch that shows even the best comedians can have a bad day. This goes far beyond their usual irony and satire to "meh". It would be a nice watch but the text takes it too far. And, it's not cheap even for a Moser.

In some ways it is very cool but overall I agree they have gone a bit too far....it would need indices too for me.

I like a lot of Moser’s watches, but this is like a 59k PowerPoint presentation or a teacher’s written remarks on a pupil’s school work. I think they overcooked this one.

Comic Sans would have been the ultimate.

I really like it, although I'm not sure how I'd feel with that yellow bar unobscured.

I think that would take it to a level beyond the watch made of Swiss cheese... I doubt they’d sell many watches but everyone would be talking about it. :D

Moser is unique in this business for sure: sometimes sublime, sometimes wacky, often challenging, never "safe". Love them for that.
A chunk of cash for something this wacky, but a good shout Lindsey.
