That's a wonderful watch! Thank you so much for your wonderful review and the beautiful pictures. H. Moser & Cie know how to design classic and timeless timepieces. The movement is wonderfully decorated and a joy to behold. If I went for a gold watch, I'd also go for white gold for sure. I like the understated look and its shine...

Enjoy this wonderful piece of art!

[quote="SIB"]I posted a couple of shots of this watch in a post about gold watches and it got a some interest plus a request from another member to do a mini review so thought I'd do one. I've never reviewed a watch before but an excuse to take pictures of my favourite one is always welcome so here goes......

I've been collecting watches for around 25 years now but only became aware of H. Moser & Cie over the past couple.
Great review! I prefer the Endeavor model personally, but at 9.3mm it seems a bit on the thick side for a dress watch compared to some of the other models available in the 7mm to 8.5mm range.

My apologies Steve and the appropriate edit has been made. Maybe I'm being silly about the case being a bit too thick, but I just prefer a thinner case. I definitely would like to be proved wrong in this case. There's another interesting British watchmaker, Alexandre Meerson that looks very interesting. Are you familiar with this company?

Also edited my post. Sorry for jumping there, but I try to campaign against indiscriminate quoting. :D

I'd love to see a Slimline with a small second hand. That's a model that I believe would be very well received.

I never saw what you'd originally wrote but whatever it was, no appology required for your opinion mate :D . My current dailly wearers are a PAM 243 (17mm thick I think) and a Rolex Seadweller (13ish mm thick?) so the Moser is certainly thin by comparison for me  . I've had a thinner watch previously, a JLC Master Control (8.5mm) which along with being thinner was also steel so a lot lighter. Some would say the JLC is "more" of a dress watch in those senses but the Moser is hardly a diver and I prefer it.

Well Moser makes a spectacular watch without question and your review was excellent! I've always preferred steel as I don't like a real heavy watch. Unfortunately so many of the upper echelon makers tend to use only precious metals, although titanium is coming into vogue now. Certainly 9.3mm is not a thick watch, so I suppose it's all about balance and how it looks on the wrist. Your watch is really a work of art. To tell you the truth, I'd be more than a bit nervous wearing a watch that fine. It would most likely be in the safe more than on my wrist! Thanks again for the Moser education.

I wear the Moser a fair amount but not every day. I work in an office so it's not likely to get damaged much there although it's picked up a couple of hairline marks from wear as you'd expect. Would rather wear it and it picks up a few marks than leave it unworn in a safe not being appreciated. I'm not sure how easy white gold is to re-finish but so longs I don't do it any real damage I'll not get too upset about it.

I'll post pics up in that thread next time I have it on, just didn't want to flood the forum with pictures of it!

Take a look at the Alexandre Meerson watch when you have time. I'd really like your opinion of this company.
