Good effort watchstudent, a wise move. Regards the All Arms Commando Course, go for it. The difference in respect you will feel and receive if wearing a green lid is immense. Give me a buzz if you do decide to attempt, I have one or two handy hints for you!!

Is it just me that sees a flaw in the OPs delight?
Where's the pulsometer scale, which one would consider vital to a medical practitioner?

Since you like Speedmasters, this would be the more logical choice – https://www.chrono24.com/en/omega/speed ... 050762.htm

i actually really dislike the look of the pulsometer on the speedy. If i were to get one i'd like it to be this... 8)

luckily I learnt at primary school to multiply by 4 and 6 so can just count the pulse for 15 or 10 seconds respectively

Well there are others aside from the Speedmaster – spend a bit of time on C24.
Eterna has one, as does Longines. Schaumburg Ceramatic, you'll see it on their own site.

Yup familiar with all of those. The Longines one is rather nice. But in reality if I do ever get one it most likely be the JLC Master Chronograph, the silver dialled one has a pulsometer.

I'm intrigued :?

How would these be used. I assume the chrono is started and 15 pulses are counted and then it stopped, that gives the pulse rate per minute. Is the pulse measured with the hand that is wearing the watch, and chrono operated with the other? Or would the watch be taken off and operated with the hand that is not taking pulse? Is it possible to measure your own pulse with one of these?

With some manual dexterity yes i think you could (use the thumb on your non-watch hand to measure the pulse on your watch hand), but you guessed it, like most complications, a bit pointless really...

Been following this thread and well done watchstudent on taking up this offer. Clearly by making this watch 'to order' Bremont are able to offer it well below their usual RRP; to your beneift.

If I'm not mistaken it is not a stand alone new watch but a variation on a theme as it seems identical, apart from the dial etc., to their current Jaguar LE but is none the less for this.

Being ex-Army but having come across guys with the Green Beret, I totally agree with rambothejambo's suggestion.

IMHO the Green Beret is second only to the SAS and ahead of the Para's Red Beret. As a doctor to the Marines you'll not doubt get to see loads more than you would see as a ship's doctor.

Good luck.
