Glycine trio are tempting - Any thoughts please?
Why is everyone trying to tempt me? - I have no control I must resist.....however,
I have been checking out Glycine watches after receiving an email yesterday from a Jeweler friend in Murcia, Spain, offering some very good deals..
Unfortunately, especially on the ones I quite like , being
Incursore III 44mm Automatic,
http://www.glycine-watch.ch/e/collectio ... ay=10003U#
COMBAT 7 AUTOMATIC
http://www.glycine-watch.ch/e/collectio ... ay=100035#
AND, Oooooo
This one, The Airman 1953 Vintage L.E.
http://www.glycine-watch.ch/e/collectio ... lay=10003P
I really like the 1953 vintage, and wonder if you good folks have any thoughts about this trio, especially if
you have one of the above, or have owned one.
I would like something a little different, 42mm is the largest watch I currently have, and would think I could stretch up to a 44mm.
There are a couple of Damasko ones I like too,
The DA 37 WI & the new DA 373 ( white faces ) but obviously these are not with any discount
Thanks for reading, and look forward to your comments.

Always admired the 24 hour dial Airman, although personally I prefer the blue version.

I have the Combat 7 and I love it, but it's very different from the Airman or Incursore. You're trying to decide between apples, tomatoes and carrots
You won't find fault with the Glycine build quality, and the brand has an illustrious history, so it's really just a matter of what you want from the watch – a simple time-teller or something more complicated and stand-out?
Personally, I've always hankered after an Airman, particularly the SST Pumpkin, but I had to settle for the bargain basement Combat 7 instead. I'll get my Airman one day though

Many thanks for your comments folks, much appreciated
however, I will keep pondering, and reading up about the three.
Thanks again
This made me smile and is quite correct, the problem is there are sooooooo many choices....It'sAliveJim wrote:I have the Combat 7 and I love it, but it's very different from the Airman or Incursore. You're trying to decide between apples, tomatoes and carrots

Re: Glycine trio are tempting - Any thoughts please?
I have recently acquired the 1953 vintage, posted a few pics under ncwotd and also a mini unboxing thread.
Of course, Id say its a great watch, nice unclutted 24hrs dial, less busier than the modern airman. Ratively thin case so it wears quite comfortable for a 42mm. My only complain is that it doesnt come with a complementary strap, at that price point the nato, though nicely made, seems a bit inadequate.

I too have just purchased the Airman 1953 Vintage and agree totally with Aifo. I am really, really pleased with everything but the strap (I have one on the way from Aussie I hope - pics to follow)
I think it wears a little on the small size for a 42mm and looks suitably different without being odd.

Re: Glycine trio are tempting - Any thoughts please?
I certainly like the vintage 1953 and the California dial, but the third is a bit dull to my eyes.
There's a full set 1953 vintage on TZ-UK sales corner at the moment, if you've got access. It's from a well known member who's very pleasant to deal with (and I'd be quite glad if someone bought it so I wasn't tempted to!).
Another advantage of Glycines is that almost all their offerings have sensibly thin cases that fit well under a cuff.
Plus everyone needs an amino acid on their wrist...
