Exchange and upgrade

Post by kevin_b1 »

As some of you may be aware I recently purchased a Tudor Prince Oyster Date but unfortunately it had an issue so it was returned and it was mentioned at the time they had just taken in a Rolex Oyster Date.
Well after a bit of negotiation the rest they say is history and it is now on my wrist.

This dates from 1971, model 1500 with a cal 1570.

Good looking dial. It's easy to see the direction your collection seems to be going in. Somehow I don't see the C9 BDD lasting that long. :)

I have to agree with those above who have commented on the colour of the dial. Indeed, that whole colour-combination, including hands, markers, dial and case, is really nice.

Very suitable replacement for the Tudor and the mottled grey dial (as I see it in the photo) is a great alternative to your other Oyster Date.

I'm curious about the bracelet as the fitted ends do not seem to sit level with the top of the lugs.

Is this the way they're meant to be or has it got a non-original bracelet? Just curious.

Really nice colour combo. Do they service the movements? Very odd the last one not working so well if they do. Is the crown straight on this one or just my eyes playing up? Bracelet numbered up? Gorgeous dial.
I miss all the great things that may never be.

The bracelet is correct has 357 end links from what I have read early Rolex bracelets where not of great quality.

No the guy I buy from on eBay is a dealer buy and sell, so you know when you buy it's not serviced but the price takes this into account.

The crown is square just the angle of the photo.

Once I have had it a few weeks I will send it in for service then I know it's been done for the next few years.
