I must have missed it then!

What was the intention? I notice you posted the same thread over in TZ-UK with a different title. Were you afraid the Tag 'fanbois' would start on you?! :D

Have you seen the strategy change? Low end watches. Fashion watches. Special "celebrity" edition watches. If anything it devalues the brand and makes it as disposable as CK or similar. Which is a tragedy of the heritage of Heuer, of whom I consider a separate entity.

I must admit I haven't, as Tag in general isn't a brand I follow much.

I do know they don't get a fair crack of the whip often though, and as long as they continue to make 'good stuff', I'm not too concerned.

At the end of the day, they need to do whatever it takes to be profitable/survive.

Not every watch company should just target middle income middle aged blokes afterall...

I have no problem with Tag, in fact, I really like the new F1 GMT offering, no, not the David Guetta edition

As has, and will be said, its all about personal taste, I may like a Paul Kenton painting, but it doesn't mean that my wife will even if we both like his style.

With watches the brand is perhaps more important to others than myself, and whilst the image first posted in this thread has no redeeming features whatsoever in my opinion, and whilst I do think that the previously mentioned 'special edition' of a watch that I do like is hideous, it does not stop me from wanting the watch that I do like. Does this sort of advertising devalue the brand? Possibly so, but if I cared about the brand more than the design of the watch itself, I wouldn't have 2 CW's!

As I said, Biver is the catalyst for this year's calamities but the argument you are trying to make above is pretty old and stale going back 30 years or so.

My point is i actually thought this thread was created to discuss modern Tag designs and where the company has gone wrong with its very recent decisions at this year's baselworld but in fact it turned into a discussion on marketing; however it seems you wanted to just drag up the same old Tag bashing stuff poured over in a ton of threads previously despite the fact that you own a golf le F1 which is pretty much an advert for the things you have problems with, the F1 range being a heavily marketed low end quartz watch at a mid range price pushed through celebrity endorsements over the years.

The picture really doesn't represent a case for everything wrong with Tag Heuer as it's extremely obvious it is there to target a younger audience and to me the watch looks to be quite trendy for a female as is the model.

Tag have created far worse new watches this year and I find that disappointing.

Don't judge me mate. You don't see me jumping to conclusions about people and their motivations on here. So what gives you the right?

'it seems' is not a closed judgement of a person. Your paragraph, it appears to me, looked to change the direction of the discussion from the interesting debate that was ongoing. You asked for my point as I asked for your objective, it shouldn't be taken personally.

dancematt, please refrain from replying to me in future. I'm not here to get into arguments with people or judge people, I'm just here for friendly discussion. Its fine to be passionate about something, but don't try and jump to conclusions about people and their motivations as you have done with me. Thank you.

Maybe this is more appealing to look at, even though it doesnt have a model in the picture?

Just been reading a bit about Biver and direction of TAG Heuer:

For your discussion, my recently acquired Tag...

I always expect criticism on here. Growing up owning a Tag was a Grail, so this scratched the itch. In person it's stunning.

For me it's one of th nicest models they make at the affordable end of things right now - the bezel and the colour logo are highlights for me. They still make nice watches.

Also - the opening post of the thread - I agree and disagree. I get where you're coming from, but anything that gets more girls wearing nicer watches can't be all bad... I'd be delighted if my wife came home with that watch instead of Michael Kors or the like.

I think you've got me wrong sir. I am not overly passionate about the brand, perhaps once... and I dearly loved my own f1 but feel the new DAVID Gheutta and Ronaldo models are truely sh+te; However I will agree to your decision but perhaps will take this opportunity to say maybe that 'Tag bashing' might have been a bit of exaggeration. The rest was how I saw it however and I'm still unaware of your true objective here I'm sorry to say. (Please don't feel like you have been judged, I do not judge anyone on here I hope)

Perhaps the idea was to promote discussion in which case I think il stick to one liners in future such as 'nice watch' as is the forum standard.
