Am well, just busy with other stuff which is why I don't visit this place as much. Also I've been helping out with a Linux OS, MX Linux, so am on their forum more often.

OK, so I guess the upgraded endgame for me then is to have a AP frosted gold watch on one wrist, the latest Dell XPS (running Linux of course) in the other hand, while rocking a silk gown? LOL!

"But to be fair, the gold-cased Audemars Piguet Royal Oak that has received the Carolina Bucci “hammered” treatment is a piece so exquisitely beautiful that no man could be blamed for giving in to his feminine side."

Yes I could.

That's a fabulous watch for the girls.

Well spotted Lindsey.

Now if it was in white gold, and a few mm bigger, that could be a different matter.

A nice concept as the AP is something of a delicate bracelet that hugs the wrist so should go well with a ladies watch especially in precious metal. That being said for a ladies watch in gold vintage would seem to me to be the way to go considering the huge variety that exists its probably the most inexpensive way to purchase a precious metal watch. Either on a bracelet or on a leather strap and considering if some of them may be too small there are always vintage gents watches that are available not to mention you have a tried and trusted movement that is proven to have stood the test of time I have not been overly impressed with many modern gold watches.

^^ definitely agree with your thoughts on vintage - especially that you get a movement that's stood the test of time. i like this current AP, though, because of this new finish that they've created that gives it such a lovely textured appearance. i wonder what looks i'd get if i walked into a store and asked to try one on?

First find your store? Is there one in Edinburgh?

Then wear your C11 and suggest you would like to compare how the AP 'wears' by comparison.

You'll be fine.

More than likely get shown the watch you want to try on. Never had a bad experience myself trying on a watch at an AD and I have seen customers from families trying on Cartier watches to a bloke in t shirt, shorts and flip flops trying on a few Rolex watches in another. I doubt they could care less what you look like or how you dress so long as you have cash or a credit card.
