Craftsman Made Box

Post by chrisjohnson »

I love all things which are craftsman made. Earlier in my career I was manufacturing manager for Rolls-Royce Bentley Motor Cars at Crewe and was in charge of the teams who made all the interior components in wood and leather and it never ceases to amaze me what craftsmen can make with skill, tools and time.

I have an ash watch box made for me a while ago but sadly this guy has stopped making them and so, as the collection has grown, I have searched for another maker. Took delivery today of this oak 10 watch box with blue interior fittings.

Nice colour and figuring and really well made

Neat blue interior with "clips" to hold each watch in its place

Image

Hinges mean that the box opens to vertical and no further

Plan is to house the quartz collection in the first box (so that limits quartz to 12) and auto/manual in this box.

Beautiful! How about housing all your autos in the wooden boxes and getting a papier mâché box with no more than two spaces to house the quartz?!!

This is only today's plan. I think over time the quartz numbers will fall but I do love my colours!

Now if someone has a C60 Orange or a C60 FLE they are willing to sell then I'll reduce quartz by two overnight!

Oh yes its that recurring dream!
