I like a lot of the watches on her website, but in particular the minimalist approach to the Rondo.

A lot of the dials are in a very similar vein to the C5, which is a positive thing in my book. Recently there has been some discussion on the forum about wanting a blue C5 - well the following link should give a good idea of what one would look like!

Not bad, well, apart from the chrono one

But the website is all in German......maybe she needs some marketing advice?

You don't speak German? Google translate works quite well. :D

If she is selling all the pieces and making a good living then perhaps she does not want to expand and get bigger so a German only site might suit her ambitions.

Which one are you looking at? The Genesis 1 has German days and "Gangreserve" on the dial.

Admittedly it says "Made in Germany" :?

(Perhaps "Hergestellt in Deutschland" takes up too much room!)

I think 'Made in...' is international in it's understanding Only the French delight in 'Fabrique en. ' I don't think you can expect multi language website for a two man, sorry one woman and one man business!

well, I would hate to disagree :) but most modern eCommerce software copes with it - the core content is a one-off translation, and then it is only new watch descriptions a couple of times a year perhaps... Certain products are an international market and luxury watches are definitely that... I would expect it to be a core business decision...

Thanks for that. Does the CW website have French, German and Spanish versions for local consumption, for example?

No, and that is a valid point - but perhaps CW are luckier - English is the accepted international language - and whereas German content sites will put off those who don't speak German, an English site on the internet is unlikely to be a stumbling block to sales... There is of course the fortunate pattern that many other language speakers also speak / understand English, whereas German is far more restrictive...

I speak English & Spanish, some French & German - but even though my Spanish is fairly fluent, I would hesitate to buy from a Spanish content website as I would be concerned that I couldn't understand it fully... English is the language of international business, so it would make sense to offer it...

Sadly, I have to agree with what Alasdair says. Sadly because it has made English speakers lazy about learning to communicate other than in their own language. We travel around the world and expect to be addressed in English, and of course we are.

Hans, Wis, Tartine74, Astro, Sifion, Zinaida, and apologies to those I don't mention. These people are perfectly at home communicating in a language which is not their own. Most of the world does this out of necessity.

Anyway, they are nice looking watches, a tad expensive, and the website contains much of the usual hype...artistry in design...hand-built beauty and precision...less is more. :D
