Bremont Supermarine has arrived

Post by downer »

Just had a call from the AD. My SM500 has arrived, and I'm going to collect it this afternoon.

Pretty excited about this one!

Now I just have to decide - bracelet, rubber, leather..........

Pictures to follow.. :)

Very exciting! :cooler:

Start with the bracelet...you know the others are cheaper seperately.

One of the things that I learned from my trip to my local Bremont AD is that the SuperMarine is too much watch for me, so I will have to live vicariously through downer and tartine.

Congrats on an awesome acquisition! Can't wait for the photos!

Well I got it....I decided on the bracelet and the leather strap, but not the rubber, having tried all three.

Pictures to follow... ;)

FIrstly, I cannot (and would not attempt to) improve on the pictures and details in this review, so I will not try. :)

Secondly, I impulsively changed my camera and so far, I have not managed to take a decent picture with the new one. I have not had time to work on all the settings, but I was impatient to take pictures of this watch. So, these are not my finest efforts, but they will suffice until I have mastered the camera.

As for my impressions of the watch, I am very pleased with it. The bracelet is very good quality and the watch feels nicely balanced. The detail in the case and dial is excellent and the lume is already looking good, even though it is still daylight.

Anyway, here goes...

I'll attempt a lume shot later.

Thanks for looking. :)

Congratulations Richard, that is a stunning watch. The pictures have really picked up on the build quality. I really like the detail in the case, looks very well thought out. I'm guessing it's pretty heavy on the wrist?

Cheers,
Jack.

Thanks Jack. It is a big watch, and fairly weighty, but I'd say it is probably lighter than my PO. If I can find some accurate scales I will try to get some accurate weights for comparison with a few other watches.

Edit...

Weights as follows:

C60 FLE on bracelet - 176g
Omega PO on bracelet - 190g
Bremont SM on bracelet - 211g

according to my scales. :)
