Breitling super avenger question.

Post by leelee »

my boss rang me to day to tell me he forgot his over night bag and watch and asked me to take them to his office.
So I got the bag and watch but noticed the watch had stopped a few days ago, so being the good employee I am set the time and date.on doing so I noticed that as I changed the time, the date changed at 4 am not 12 midnight.
When I handed over the bag and watch he asked me to take his other watch home again, which is also a super avenger, so once in the van tested this one and the same thing 4am not midnight for the date change.
Is this the norm?

Cheers lee.

Sorry, they are both chronos if that helps?

I agree. Breitlings basically have COSC ETA movements inside, and they are designed to change date at midnight.

Apologies for going off-topic, but what a bloody stupid name for a watch!

A watch should be about the most placid and predictable machine you could buy. WTF is it ever likely to avenge?
About as promising as a Balls-Warthog or whatever it is?
Enough, please, of this overtly gung-ho naming and avertising trend!

C5 Malvern...listen to the Elgar cello concerto!
Omega Constellation...look up at the night sky!

Super Avenger...blow some poor **** to pieces! There's enough of that in real life!

Rant over...sorry!

^^

Every time I see the Avenger name, I think of this...

When I was 18, I was allowed to use one of these as a company car. Happy days!

Yeah, I remember these - the watch has more chance of avenging!

Possibly fakes? Don't think they are so fussy about time of date change on those.

I had an Avenger as a company car at about the same age. I bloody hated it! You could see daylight round the topsof the drivers side doors and it handled like a camel in the rain. Apparently,it had been in a big accident when new and repaired badly.

Two months later I got a MK V Cortina 2.0 GL as my company car and it was brilliant.

Checked my B'lings last night and they both change date at 12:00. Well, within a few seconds so I'd say the two Super Avengers are copies. Lots of them about and why have two expensive watches the same? The rep sites are full of B'ling SA's and they don't seem to change date correctly either.

p.s. why look on rep sites? Know thy enemy! When looking to buy secondhand I wanted to know the "tells" for a "Bond" before I bought one so I didn't end up with another bloody fake. In the end, bought from TZ and was/am sure about both the watch and the seller.

I'm a big fan of this colour!

The Breitling Super Avenger uses an ETA Valjoux 7750. It is a big watch

Diameter: 48.4mm
Thickness: 18.6mm

My C40 which is also a 7750 starts to change before midnight and finishes a few minutes after. So I would expect any 7750 to do the same.
