Boss Watch - Shades of CW

Post by JAFO »

https://www.esquire.com/uk/watches/a631 ... nYAlMOmbVw

Ive seen this on a few websites. Nice colour. I just read a bit and it's a hybrid, part quartz, part automatic. But the dial texture is constructed of Boss logos. Shades of the CW 12. Mike should sue them :D

^^^^ Innovative Hybrid movement? Won't that be a Seiko Kinetic? I had one 20 years ago. :problem: :problem:

As for the dial? Looks like the perforations on a tea bag. I don't think CW has anything to be worried about.

The article’s opening gambit…
They say you can tell a lot about a man by his shoes. But for our money, what’s on his wrist is far more revealing.
One hesitates to judge on these things alone, but it would be tempting.

I would be really surprised if it wasn't a Seiko, Epson or Citizen movement of some kind. The glommed stuff from all over the place. The hands say Omega for sure. I can see a little Christopher Ward influence although not directly.

Mike should sue them :D
Not sure that throwing stones is a wise hobby for people who live in glass houses ...

As for the rest, and the rather "advertorial" tone of the article: it's a £349 watch from a fashion brand. Does that help manage expectations?

I was referring to the dial being constructed of logos. CW did that first. I hope. ;D

I fail to see how the perforations on the dial of the Bossmatic, which look like the perforations on a tea bag to me, bear any resemblance to the 'BOSS' logo. :-k :-k

It's just some kind of anodyne pattern. :problem: :problem:

Looking closely, perhaps it is meant to be a tessellation of capital Bs??

Well, not exactly a tessellation, but Omega has repeating patterns of 007 and little guns. I’m told they even appeal to grown-ups.
