Bell & Ross is a brand that has established quite a following for itself when it comes down to purposeful and well-built tool watches. The latest effort from the brand in this vein is the BR V2-92 military green, a sports watch with a nice military flavor.

Bell & Ross is a brand that has established quite a following for itself when it comes down to purposeful and well-built tool watches. The latest effort from the brand in this vein is the BR V2-92 military green, a sports watch with a nice military flavor.

Presented in an olive drab color, the dial of this new watch immediately highlights the military connection conjuring up images of soldier’s uniforms. As for the layout, you have a cockpit instrument cluster inspired design that Bell & Ross is well known for. A combination of black outlined batons and bold Arabic numerals constitute the hour index which is supported by a black printed minute track on the outer periphery.

The sword-shaped handset looks the part and is well proportioned with the minute hand reaching out to the tip of the minute/seconds track making it a breeze to read the time. Furthermore, to ensure low light visibility the markers along with the hands have been coated with light green luminous paint. My favorite bit on this dial though is the circular date window that has been neatly tucked away between the marker at 4 and 5 without disturbing the symmetry of the dial.

The case on this watch is made of stainless steel and measures a modest 41mm in diameter that should make it sit comfortably on a wide variety of wrists. Sitting on top of the case is a bi-directional rotating bezel with a black aluminum insert that gives the watch a retro vibe. At 3 is a screw-down crown, that would make sure that the watch remains water-resistant to 100 meters. Protecting the dial is a box sapphire crystal and there is also a sapphire glass on the back to enjoy a nice view of the calibre BR-CAL 302 that drives this watch. This is an automatic movement that operates at a frequency of 4 Hz and offers a power reserve of around 38 hours.

The new Bell & Ross BR V2-92 is a great looking sports watch that is ready to take on the rigors of daily life. The watch is available to purchase on a military strap for EUR 2,700 or a stainless-steel bracelet for EUR 2,990

I like the look of this wrist offering, but for less than 1/3 of it's retail price(to say nothing of buying it at Nearly New or at 1/2 price discounts during sales like I did), the Christopher Ward C65 Khaki Diver seems like a much smarter buy. And you can choose either automatic or manual wind versions!. I will give B & R credit, though, for correctly labeling it a 'field' watch and not a diver..Here's a pic of mine..

Ebels are a lot like women that lack a lowcut dress that zips up the side..neither gets the love that they deserve..
